Who We Are
918.software is Devin Venable — an independent software consultant based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I work directly with operations teams in small and mid-sized businesses to remove the friction from internal workflows and systems.
The name comes from Tulsa's area code (918). I focus on local relationships first, though I work with clients anywhere. No sales team, no account managers — you work directly with me.
How I Work
Start Small
I begin with one clearly defined problem. Fixed scope, fixed price. You see results before committing to more.
Direct Access
No layers between us. I do the work, answer the questions, and stay accountable.
Operations-First
I focus on how your team actually works day-to-day — not on selling technology.
Practical Tools
I use modern tools including AI when they fit. But the goal is always the outcome, not the tech.
Problems I Solve
I work with operations teams who are stuck with:
- Spreadsheets that became systems — brittle, error-prone, impossible to hand off
- Manual processes that eat time — copying data between tools, chasing updates, fixing mistakes
- Multiple tools that almost work together — but require constant workarounds
- Internal tools people rely on but dislike — clunky, outdated, or built by someone who left
- Reporting that takes hours — pulling from multiple sources, reformatting, double-checking
These aren't glamorous problems. But they compound over time, and they're exactly the kind of thing I fix.
What I Offer
I take on small, contained engagements — one clearly defined problem at a time. Fixed scope, fixed price, quick turnaround.
Workflow Fixes
Untangle messy processes, connect disconnected systems, and eliminate manual work that's eating your team's time.
AI When It Fits
I use AI tools when they solve real problems — not as a pitch. Practical applications, clear guardrails, no hype.
Team Training
Help your team use AI tools effectively and safely — focused on your actual workflows, not generic tutorials.
